Our Story

It started with a book.

We met in 2016, and one of the first books we read together was Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. Its exploration of storytelling — and the role stories have played in connecting us, shaping cultures and bringing people together — stayed with us.

So did three things we have always loved: food, coffee and books.

Over the years, those three things became an idea. We wanted to create somewhere that treated each of them with equal importance — exceptional food, beautifully made coffee and a carefully curated collection of books, all under one roof.

Food has always been at the heart of Amelia’s. Our menus are created around ingredients of exceptional quality, sourced locally wherever possible and organic when available. We never use artificial ingredients, and everything we serve is considered with the same attention to flavour, provenance and quality.

That philosophy extends to our smoothies, each thoughtfully developed as a complete recipe, bringing together flavour with nutrient-rich ingredients, antioxidants and superfoods chosen with intention.

Coffee is approached with the same care, from the beans we choose to the way each cup is made. And on our shelves, you’ll find books selected because we believe they are worth reading, sharing and talking about.

We also believe good places should work for real life — and real life includes children. Amelia’s was designed to welcome them into the experience, rather than separate them from it. Our kids’ corner gives little readers a place of their own, while remaining very much part of the café around them.

That idea became Amelia’s.

Part café, part restaurant, part bookstore — without any one of them being an afterthought.

A place for morning coffee and breakfast, lunch in the middle of the day, weekend brunch, a new book, afternoon tea, an event, a glass of wine — with children at the table, not relegated to somewhere else.

We opened our first Amelia’s in Fort Lauderdale in 2026.

Food. Coffee. Books. Each taken rather seriously.
